Having seen how the rebooting of the Batman franchise under Christopher Nolan revived the character and resulted in unprecedented box office returns, the Superman franchise will also get a reboot. And as reboots go, it means there will be a new Superman. It was announced that British actor Henry Cavill has won the role of Superman. Here’s a bit of trivia, Cavill (most famous for his role as Henry VIII’s brother in The Tudors) also auditioned for the role of Batman, which Christian Bale won.

Toni Braxton’s heart needs to be “un-broken” as she was rushed to the hospital for chest pains. The six-time Grammy winner was admitted to the St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Las Vegas last Monday night. 

The 40-year old singer headlining a five-nights-a-week show at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino, was released and listed in good condition the following day. The Flamingo representative stated that they’re giving more time for the signer to rest before she starts again on April 15. 

Braxton previously disclosed that she had pericarditis, an inflammation of the heart lining. She also admitted that she periodically gets heart flutters and high blood pressure.

Is Shia LeBouf brazenly going against the law? He just had his car impounded for parking in front of someone else’s driveway. Even before it was taken away, someone actually took the trouble of composing a ten-line notice, printing it, and then posting it on his car’s window. Talk about a really pissed off homeowner.

We’ve noticed some patterns lately. Last, November, he was arrested for trespassing, this month he was arrested for unlawful smoking, and then this! Is he going down the road of the rebellious actor-type?

It seems to be pretty much very small-time crimes. What’s he going to do next, Jaywalk?

If you remember the old TV show, Beverly Hills 90210, you might be too old to appreciate the new one.

Script details have been leaked out to the media, it seems to be more Politically correct, and up to date compared to the old version. There’s going to be a 60 plus actress/alcoholic, a rebellious teenager, a wannabe who has her own YouTube show, and a Jewish girl with a black boyfriend. We’re still looking for Asians, Latinos, and the occasional foreigners to join the show.

Joking aside, we hope that today’s teens will enjoy the show as we did in the early 90’s.

1. Tom Selleck was originally cast as Indy, but Magnum, P.I.‘s producers wouldn’t release him from his contract. Fortunately, Harrison Ford swung in to fill the role.

2. The biplane in the opening of the film has the identification letters OB-CPO, a shout-out to Star Wars‘ Obi-Wan Kenobi and C-3PO. Also, in the Well of Souls, C-3PO and R2-D2 are among the figures on the wall of Egyptian hieroglyphics.

3. Debra Winger reportedly turned down the Marion Ravenwood role that eventually went to Karen Allen.

4. The movie’s funniest scene came about by accident. During the shoot in Tunisia, Ford caught dysentery and was too ill to film a long fight scene with an Egyptian swordsman. ”Let’s just shoot the f—er,” he said to Spielberg. So they did.

5. The monkey in the film was so uncooperative that hidden wires were needed to wrangle it around the set.

A civil case was filed against P. Diddy or Sean Combs by a California man claiming that he was assaulted by the rapper/hip-hop entrepreneur at a Hollywood nightclub last year. A Los Angeles judge had scheduled the hearing on May 27 with four witnesses testifying under oath against Combs on the alleged slugging that took place on February 26. 

Despite signs of Britney Spears trying to get back her life back up to a semblance of normalcy, Prosecutors have decided to go on with charging her for driving without a license. According to LA city attorney, Michael Amerian said that this is the “…fairest way to treat her. [We're] not affected by her celebrity status.” The said case will go on as scheduled on June18. 

Britney Spears have just finished shooting a guest role in comedy hit-show, How I Met Your Mother. Her character falls in-love with the show’s main actor, Ted, played by Josh Radnor. There were also reports of her opening a dance studio.

And just recently, Hannah Montana’s pictures of her showing off her lingerie became the talk of the town. Her photos revealed a seductive teen wearing green bra, and lying next to a guy, who’s probably her beau. I first heard her name through my 7-year-old pupil, who was undoubtedly a Hannah Montana fan. Just a thought: What if she sees her idol’s pics on the Internet? I wonder how she’d take it. Shouldn’t these teen stars be posing as role models? Just asking.

It is rumored that David Duchovny, star of the TV sci-fi mystery hit X-Files was having a relationship with his tennis instructor. He says that there is no other meaning for the term LOVE in tennis. Edit Pakay is the 28-year-old Hungarian instructor. Both parties have denied the affair, maintaining that their relationship is purely friendship and that they share a common interest which is playing tennis. Although they have not closed their answers as to whether the friendship has the chance of growing into something more. Duchovny recently separated from his wife, Tea Leoni after coming out of rehab for sex addiction. The rumors came from a tabloid, and was asked by Duchovny’s lawyers to stop its run if it will not be substantiated with evidence, but the tabloid pushed through with it, now the other party are planning to file a lawsuit against them.
